Website Status Update - May 17th 2025

Our website has been partially down for a couple of days, which prevented customers from checking out their orders. After driving a 1000 mile business trip this week, this was the last thing I needed to sort when I returned home........
|
That said, I am very pleased to say that the issue was traced to a plugin on the site that had automatically updated on 13th May, causing mischief to other areas of the site. The plugin was not even a critical function, it basically allowed us to upload large files to the free downloads area.

Why am I telling you this?

I basically wanted to reassure you that this was NOT a data breach of any kind and that your information is safe. We do not store any personal payment data on the website database and all of our card handling is processed by our secure payment partners PayPal and WooPayments (Stripe), two of the largest payment processing gateway providers in the world.

Apologies for the disruption. I had a pretty sleepless night last night worrying about the site getting back up. We have our debut show next weekend in Nottingham and we rely on the website for our POS system to work. I was already planning to go "oldschool" and get a calculator and pencils......

Our hosting providers were totally unhelpful, but in this day and age it isn't enought to just be a 3D creative and business owner, you also have to be an IT expert. Thankfully, my years providing websites and web services paid off and the issue was swiftly identified and fixed.
